What this is all about -

Welcome to a website dedicated to showcasing my varied interests. A quick trip through these pages will show that I have an interest in photography, history, scale model making and writing - mostly about Canadian aviation. My interest in these areas was instilled in me by my family and I've been passionate about them since I was a little boy.

I've published a handful of articles and photographs in aviation magazines and newsletters, but the highlight (so far) came in April 2012 when I finally finished Chinook Flying Services Ltd., a story about the flying company my grandparents owned for 20 years.

Since mid-2001, I've been working on another writing project entitled Flying Fire Trucks. When complete, it'll be the first book dedicated to telling the important story of how aviation has contributed to protecting Canada's wilderness. Researching it has been a blast, and I'm fortunate to have travelled from one end of the country to the other in search of stories and photographs that date back to 1918.
