The best thing about this model was a compliment I received from another modeller at a contest. He basically told me my I had done a nicer job on my little Hurricane than the other modellers had done on their 1/48th scale models. I was also honoured to have this model selected for a Battle of Britain award at the Victoria Scale Modellers contest one year. Maybe good things do come in small packages.

After years of putting up with ancient Airfix kits, or the colossal panel lines of Matchbox’s “Mad Trencher”, modellers were happy to have Hasegawa release a modern, high quality
Hurricane.
I picked this kit up at a local hobby shop just so I could add a Hurricane to my collection of Second World War fighter planes. The nicest part of this build came when an experienced
modeller from another club took me aside and told me he thought it was the nicest airplane in the whole contest. Unfortunately, as he pointed out, even really nice small models get
ignored by the judges, whose eyes are drawn to bigger ones.
Moulded in Hasegawa’s typical medium grey styrene, this kit features beautifully thin recessed panel lines. To some people, this is offset by the exaggerated scalloping on the fabric
portions.
Because I was simply interested in adding a Hurricane to my collection, this model was built out of the box.
The out of the box build extended to the decals, which worked well.
